Dr. Fuchs is a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, which is widely recognized as one of the country’s most prestigious post-graduate teaching institutions for neuromuscular health and cosmetics. Dr. Lauren Hernandez began her dental career as a hygienist. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in dental hygiene from the University of Louisville before receiving her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Hernandez also completed an externship at the Midwest Implant Institute in 2021 and was inducted as a fellow in September of 2022. As a daughter of an Army officer, she moved around a lot, but calls Louisville home since being here since 2008. Dr. Hernandez credits her father for helping her decide to become a dentist because of her artistic eye. What she loves most about dentistry is getting to know her patients and making them feel as comfortable as possible no matter the procedure.
Dr. Hernandez is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have four children. In her spare time she enjoys reading both fiction and nonfiction, exercising, and cooking for her friends and family. She loves Orange Theory Fitness and the Dallas Cowboys, but admits to being a Cowboys fan by marriage. Having lived in Guatemala as a child, she also loves being able to use her Spanish skills with patients!

They were married in 1999 and made the trek across country to Kentucky so Matt could attend dental school. He has always admired and been inspired by his uncle, Dr. Wayne Mortenson, and is so happy to be following in his footsteps in dentistry. He has been recognized with the Individual Achievement Award by the prestigious dental organization. Matt and Jen have six young children: Megan, Ben, Zac, Jake, Max and Ava. Needless to say, Matt stays very busy at work and at home, and enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and kids.

Dr. Clark says what she enjoys most about being a dentist is getting to know her patients and helping them improve their smiles by either easing their pain or improving their self confidence. She has lived in Minnesota and Alabama, loves all things football, and even though she roots for Minnesota teams, her soon-to-be husband is a graduate and employee at the University of Louisville, so she’s also a Cards fan — go Cards! He then completed an additional year of training through the University of Louisville’s hospital-based General Practice Residency. Dr. Morgan enjoys traveling and has been fortunate to participate in several dental mission trips to Nicaragua and the Amazon River in Brazil. Dr. Morgan also speaks functional Spanish and enjoys the opportunity to talk with patients in Spanish when possible. Dr Barrington has had early exposure to the field of dentistry. He grew up as a patient of Dr. O Wayne Mortenson in Middletown, Kentucky. During his undergraduate studies, he spent summers working with Dr Wayne as an assistant. This experience encouraged Dr. Barrington to study dentistry at the University of Louisville and earn his dental degree. He strives to provide comprehensive care and has had many hours of additional training in the areas of dentures, implants, root canals, and crowns. In addition, he is a graduate of Eastern High School, where he was named a 1999 Governor Scholar and the 2000 class valedictorian. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Chemistry from Brigham Young University. Dr Barrington is also fluent in Spanish, having served a two-year mission for his church in Argentina. Dr. Barrington is a Lifetime Qualified Member of the Crown Council. Dr. Christina Hamby is from Dawson Springs, Kentucky. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Louisville before graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She says her own family dentist and orthodontist influenced her to become a dentist. She enjoyed going to her appointments and watching the interaction of the dental teams and how they cared for their patients. This made them very well respected in the small community she grew up in, which resonated with her. Dr. Hamby says what she loves most about dentistry is every day, every patient, and every procedure is different. She gets to work with each individual to plan the best possible outcome together.
In her spare time, Dr. Hamby loves to travel, try new restaurants, cook and anything outdoors. She has a golden doodle named Oliver and is engaged to be married later this year.

Dr. Tyler Low is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He attended Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science. He then completed his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Low credits his brother, who he has always looked up to and is also a dentist, for playing a big role in helping him accomplish his dream of becoming a dentist. As a kid, Dr. Low admits to being self-conscious about his smile and knows what it’s like to be anxious about going to the dentist. His goal is to put his patients at ease and make them feel comfortable when it comes to having dental work done. When not spending time with his patients, he and his wife, Molly, are busy raising their daughter and dog, Peanut. Dr. Low enjoys learning new skills like leather working, cooking, grilling, and marksmanship. He also loves to travel having lived in Brazil for two years and is fluent in Portuguese.

Dr. Wright was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from Louisville Male High School, he attended the University of Louisville where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Upon graduating, Dr. Wright was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves. He was then accepted to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and graduated in 1998. After being promoted to Captain, Dr. Wright entered the Army on active duty and served over eight years as a dentist in places like Fort Hood in Texas, Bosnia and Germany. Having served his country and achieved the rank of Major, he left the Army with a dream of returning home and opening a dental practice. Dr. Wright opened our Jeffersonville, Indiana, office in October of 2007. During his spare time, Dr. Wright can be found enjoying nature as an avid outdoor sportsman. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

Todd moved to Louisville from Arizona when he was just a toddler while his dad attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. After graduating from Trinity High School, Dr. Todd pursued his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University before graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry himself in 1998. He has been working for Mortenson Family Dental ever since. Todd has four children: Hannah, Nolan, Lucas and Angela.

Dr. Tatyana Furman studied biology at the University of Louisville and, after taking an undergraduate preview dentistry class, became fascinated with the artistry of dentistry. She graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and has been practicing her art for almost 20 years. Dr. Furman is originally from Ulyanovsk, Russia, where her mother was a medical doctor and helped shape her decision to find a career in the medical field.
She says what she enjoys most about dentistry is helping people to improve their smiles and overall health by improving their dental health. She admits to having a kind and gentle approach and loves explaining treatment options and educating the patient on why treatment is needed. Dr. Furman has been married for over 25 years, has two wonderful daughters and a large extended family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking — especially baking bread — hiking with the family dog, reading and practicing yoga.

Dr. Davari was born in Mashhad, Iran, but has lived in Louisville for so long that she considers this home. She believes her personal and professional growth comes from giving back to the community. She volunteers with organizations like Remote Area Medical and the Free Smile Clinic where she donates her time and expertise to help those in need of dental care.
Dr. Davari has a genuine passion for boosting the confidence of her patients by enhancing their smiles. She strives to take the time to listen to their concerns and ensure they understand every step of their treatment. Dr. Marcia Irving-Ray was born in London, England, and raised in northern New Jersey. She completed her undergraduate degree in botany from Rutgers University in 1985. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Science degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 1991. Dr. Irving-Ray is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the National Dental Association.
Her desire to pursue a career in dentistry came from having negative dental experiences as a child. For Dr. Irving-Ray, providing exceptional care for her patients and their oral health is a priority. Her goal is to earn their trust and provide a positive experience so they will walk out of the office with smiles and motivation to return.
When Dr. Irving-Ray is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her husband. Together they have one daughter who is a chemical engineer in Baltimore, Maryland. She enjoys reading biographies, watching movies from the 30s and 40s era, as well as documentaries. She is an avid college basketball fan who eagerly anticipates March Madness. Dr. Irving-Ray is a member of a local music trivia team that competes every week. Something unique about her is that she was once a contestant on the game show, The Weakest Link.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of South Florida before graduating from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Meclosky has earned fellowships in both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. Fellowships can only be achieved after completing extensive dental implant training programs, review of successful implant cases and peer recommendations. Dr. Meclosky has also completed mini residency and advanced programs in oral surgery, advanced oral conscious sedation, cosmetics and restorative, and sleep bruxism disorders. He has provided free dental care to disadvantaged citizens through the state of Ohio’s OPTIONS Program as well as through the Leave No Veteran Behind program. Dr. Jeff is a proud graduate of Trinity High School. He served a two-year church mission in the Netherlands after graduating and is fluent in Dutch. He then attended Brigham Young University, where he pursued his undergraduate studies and subsequently graduated from the University of Louisville in 1999. He began practicing dentistry at Mortenson Family Dental right after graduation.

Dr. Thurman met his wife, Susan, a reading specialist for JCPS, when they were both high school students. They have been married since 1978 and have two grown sons, Jeff and Todd. Dr. Thurman is a big advocate for the Boy Scouts of America. On the weekends you might find him rappelling over a cliff, backpacking through the woods, or whitewater rafting. Dr. Thurman also enjoys driving and restoring sports cars, boating on Lake Cumberland and doing home improvement projects.

Together they have two children — daughter Milana and son Dimitry. After moving to the United States, she was a dental assistant at Kid’s Dentistree for six years. Dr. Tenrrero-Villalon now lives in Louisville with her husband and has two children. A patient’s comfort and satisfaction are of utmost importance to Dr. Tenrrero-Villalon, along with helping them achieve a healthy smile for a healthy and positive life. Kate is a third-generation dentist and has been around dentistry her whole life. She began assisting her dad while in high school, but it was her time as an assistant at Stonehaven Dental while attending Utah Valley University that solidified her desire to go on to dental school. She graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and is a member of the Kentucky Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Kate says what she likes most about dentistry is the patients. She loves getting to interact with so many different people every day and experience so many different things, noting that the days are never boring. Dr. Kate enjoys working out in her spare time, especially at Pure Barre and Cyclebar classes, as well as spending time at the lake in the summers with her family. She and her husband, Tyler, have a Yorkie named Roxy and a son, Owen Tyler Rost (named after her grandfather).

With over 26 years of experience practicing dentistry, he is more than comfortable with providing all aspects of general dentistry, but admits to being an advocate for comprehensive care for his patients. He enjoys both fixed and removal prosthodontics and considers these cases both challenging and rewarding. He says there is something about restoring a patient’s function and confidence that still excites him!
Dr. Cranfill was influenced by his grandfather to become a dentist, who was active in dentistry for 45 years. He helped mentor him and instilled values on how to always treat patients and people in general with kindness and respect – a philosophy he carries with him to this day.
Dr. Cranfill has been married to his spouse, Audra, for over 30 years. Together they have two children, Samantha and Joseph, and a granddaughter, Nora. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time and going to sporting events with his family as well as playing and listening to music. His favorite sports are college basketball – Go CATS – and professional baseball, Atlanta Braves.

Dr. Andrea Kyro received her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She says what she enjoys most about dentistry is the artistry of the profession. That artistry allows her to work with her hands, but in a healthcare setting where she has the benefit of making a patient smile with not only a cosmetic change, but helping their overall health. She attributes her love of being a dentist to her mother and grandmother who were both dental assistants. Dr. Kyro grew up in the dental office watching her mother and grandmother bring comfort to the patients they treated and she wanted to carry on that same care to her patients.
Dr. Kyro is married to her husband Zach and together they love serving their local church. They also have Ezra, their German Shepherd, and Eli the cat. In her spare time she enjoys painting, sculpting, reading, hiking, and traveling. Her most recent trips have been Lake Tahoe and Alaska.

It’s very important to Dr. Chen that he’s able to alleviate those fears for patients who share the same feelings as his parents. Continuing his dental education is also important to Dr. Chen. He knows that continuing to learn about advances in the dental profession is what allows him to provide the best treatment and care for his patients.
Dr. Chen is married to his amazing wife and together they are raising their beautiful daughter and two family dogs, Skippy and Huey. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, running, working out, and doing yoga. He likes to try new restaurants, but does say his favorite food is Mexican and his wife’s spaghetti!

Dr. Koval and his wife, Holly, have three children, Nicole, Haley, and Ryan. They enjoy spending time boating on different lakes around the state. And, if there is any time left after practicing dentistry, raising three children, and going to the lake, Dr. Koval spends it restoring his classic Mustang.

Dr. Anze Tavcar was born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Admitting his enjoyment in challenges, Dr. Tavcar stepped completely out of his comfort zone by leaving his country right after high school and enrolling at Indiana University. While there, he pursued his love of swimming, even competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! Dr. Tavcar then went on to complete dental school at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Not only did he receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, but he also completed a postdoctoral hospital residency at the University of Louisville Hospital. Helping others is what brings Dr. Tavcar joy, which is why he pursued a career in dentistry. He believes everything in dentistry is important, but places a big emphasis on patient communication and management of expectations.
In his spare time, Dr. Tavca enjoys swimming and playing pickleball. He also appreciates a good cup of coffee. While he has no plans to move back to Slovenia, he loves traveling there at least once a year as the rest of his family still lives there. Dr. Tavcar encourages anyone with a passion for outdoor adventures or fine dining restaurants inside castles to add Slovenia to your travel list.

Dr. Pendleton is married to Dr. Michael Kornblatt — who is a pediatric dentist with our Kid’s Dentistree brand — and together they have one daughter. In her spare time she enjoys homesteading, hiking and practicing yoga. She says what she enjoys most about dentistry is building relationships with her patients.

Dr. Walker was born in Florida and attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies. She decided to leave the Sunshine State to attend University of Louisville School of Dentistry where she graduated in 2003. After graduation, Dr. Walker served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy where she was stationed in San Diego and Atsugi, Japan. After her four-year commitment was complete, Dr. Walker was excited to move back to Louisville with her family. When Dr. Walker is not working, she spends her spare time with her family, including husband, Michael, son, Henry, and daughter, Elsie, and enjoying the adventures that they bring!

Originally from Corbin, Kentucky, she graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Having volunteered at a nonprofit dental clinic, Dr. Jones says this is what influenced her to become a dentist. What she enjoys most about being a dentist is her patients!
Dr. Jones and her husband have two daughters and in her spare time she loves to spend time with her family.

Dr. Emily Powell attended Western Kentucky University for her undergraduate degree, the University of Louisville School of Dentistry for her DMD, and then the University of Kentucky General Practice Residency. Dr. Emily is an adjunct faculty for UKCD. She loves teaching and ensuring her patients understand how to best care for their oral health. Dr. Emily, her husband Chris, and their two daughters attend Frankfort FUMC and participate in the music programs there. Dr. Emily’s favorite things are music, reading, games, and traveling- her favorite place to visit is NYC! She looks forward to getting to know you as she helps you hit your goals for your smile!

Dr. Natali Zolotareva is originally from Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville (U of L) with both her undergraduate and dental degrees. While in dental school, Dr. Zolotareva was inducted into U of L’s Delphi Society and, upon graduating, was elected into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Dental Society. Dr. Zolotareva always wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. As a dentist, she is motivated to help patients gain confidence in their smile and oral health. In her free time, Dr. Zolotareva enjoys reading, exploring new places and spending time with family.
