Originally from Russellville, Kentucky, Dr. Shana Dean received a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Western Kentucky University before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine from University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Dean is a member of the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association and the Louisville Dental Society. She credits her childhood dentist and college career counselor with influencing her to become a dentist. What she loves most about dentistry is helping her patients feel great about their smile. In her spare time, Dr. Dean loves being on the water while boating, skiing and kayaking — it’s no wonder blue is her favorite color! She also enjoys traveling, board games, trivia nights, watching soccer and basketball, and eating tacos, which she could do “all day, every day.”

I had an amazing experience with this dentist office. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I had a tooth extracted and it was pain free and easy to extract. Dr. Dean and her staff went out of their way to help me with my medication because the Walmart pharmacy and insurance company didn’t do their job right. They helped me after hours. Which is unheard of in these days we are living in. I felt that I was important to them. Thank you for your help.

The worst experience I’ve ever had with a dentist in my life. Had fillings in four of my upper right teeth all in a row together. Had no problems or issues whatsoever. They convinced me that the fillings were bad and needed replaced. I allow them to to the procedure and for the past 2 months have nothing but pain and discomfort where there was none. They have consistently told me that it is normal and takes up to 6 weeks to return to normal. Finally once there became an absess they scheduled me an appointment. I came in today and they denied any wrong doing in the matter and are not only telling me I need one of the teeth either abstracted or given a root canal but also trying to charge me for this new procedure. All while simultaneously trying to get me to allow them to replace a filling in another tooth that causes me no issues. I would recommend that anyone avoid this dentist at all cost. I believe they are just preying on people with insurance not being widely accepted and milking them for all they can while doing crappy work!
